Good news for fans of the British rhythm ‘n’ blues scene in the Sixties. The original members of Manfred Mann are set to team up with Alan Price and former Stone the Crows singer Maggie Bell for another Maximum Rhythm ‘N’ Blues tour.
The 27-date tour will kick off in Croydon on Friday October 10, 2008, with a final show in High Wycombe on January 28, 2009.
The Maximum Rhythm ‘N’ Blues tour will reunite original Manfreds members Paul Jones, Mike D’Abo, Tom McGuinness and Mike Hugg. The show is expected to feature The Manfreds on stage throughout, performing classics such as ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, ‘5-4-3-2-1’ and ‘Mighty Quinn’, as well as backing special guests Alan Price and Maggie Bell.
The R&B extravaganza will be staged by promoter Flying Music, famous for their Solid Silver 60s shows which have been touring the UK for the past 21 years. Flying Music also devised the highly successful Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show, starring Marty Wilde & The Wildcats, Joe Brown & The Bruvvers, John Leyton, Eden Kane and The Vernons Girls.
“Following numerous critically acclaimed tours and due to public demand, Maximum Rhythm ‘N’ Blues is back, once again boasting some of the finest quality talent ever assembled on one stage before,” said a Flying Music spokesperson.
